Cabinet Making Tuition Courses
Geoffrey offers cabinet making tuition typically run for a 12, 24 or 36 week period, usually following regular term dates.
A 12 week course gives the student a good foundation on which to build fine furniture. Topics covered include sharpening, designing, drawing, wood preparation, machining, joint making, dovetailing and finishing, and several small projects are made.
A 36 week course sees the student designing and building their own fine furniture to a very high standard and, in most cases, to a position whereby they could start out on their own.
The price of a 12 week course is £5,000.00, 24 week is £8,500.00 and a 36 week course is £12,000.00.
A short course can be arranged, at a price of £150 per day, by way of an introduction before committing to a longer course, where a small project tackled.
Business Seminars
Geoffrey has been hosting a one day seminar drawn from his experiences, that is designed to help individuals decide whether to start their own furniture making business, how to set it up and how to become a successful operation. Topics covered include: becoming a business, banking, bookkeeping, accounting, advertising, marketing, websites, liasing with clients, dealing with timber merchants, pricing jobs, sourcing materials and employing staff- all directly aimed and related to the furniture industry.
One-to-one business consultations can also be arranged.
