Profile: Geoffrey Rowe, Cabinet Maker

After 22 years working in the City of London, Geoffrey Rowe decided it was time to change direction and follow instead his long term passion for working with wood. His father was a carpenter, and even while working in the financial markets, Geoffrey continued to develop his skills.

Becoming a true craftsman takes time, determination – and a talented teacher. Geoffrey trained in Fine Furniture Making and Antique Restoration under John Lloyd of ‘Furniture and Cabinet Making’ fame.

He now runs his own furniture making workshop in North Mymms, Hertfordshire, and specialises in commissioned pieces of individually designed and hand crafted fine furniture.

His fine furniture designs range from cutting edge and contemporary work through to traditionally styled period pieces to suit the needs of his clients.

Geoffrey also runs furniture making courses and provides tuition for others wanting to learn to make their own fine furniture and start their own cabinet making business.

Geoffrey's unique work has been featured in Furniture and Cabinetmaking magazine.

"Just wanted to let you know that our bar stools have arrived so feel free to come over and take your pictures. We are still so thrilled with the piece and everyone who comes to the house raves about it - thank you so much once again." Caroline
